A good idea is a good idea, and the advent of online shopping has had a significant impact on commerce in the United States. The concept is catching on in Saudi Arabia, and the Kingdom represents a strong market and ideal opportunities for internet sales and delivery growth.
Sarah Abdullah in Arab News writes:
“Saudi consumers fed up with the low quality of products and seasonal price increases on items that are traditionally purchased before and during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr are opting to buy earlier and online.”
But there are challenges ahead for Saudi web commerce growth.
Online shopping will test the progress of Saudi infrastructure improvements in the last ten years, because it requires good roads, airports and a variety of vehicles. And, of course, it requires the steady growth of reliable and cheap internet access in the Kingdom, internet commerce regulation, and more issues.
If done right, look for yet another fast growing sector in the Saudi economy.
