How to replace fuel filter VOLVO V70 2 (SW) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
Open the fuel door. 2. Unscrew the fuel filler cap. 3. Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit. Required tools: Wire brush WD-40 spray All-purpose cleaning spray Drive socket # 12 Ratchet wrench Torque wrench Fluid container Fuel line pliers Flat Screwdriver 4. Prepare a container for fluids.
5. Clean the fasteners of the fuel supply lines. 6. Clean the fuel filter bracket. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. 7. Unscrew the cap of the pressure control valve.
Press on the pressure control valve. 9. Squeeze the clips and detach the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter housing. Use fuel line pliers. Use a crowbar. AUTODOC recommends: Be careful!
Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses. 10. Unscrew the fuel filter bracket fixing bolts. Use a drive socket #12. Use a ratchet wrench. 11. Remove the fuel filter together with its bracket. 12. Remove the fuel filter. 13. Put the old filter cartridge in the container. 14. Install a new fuel filter. 15. Install the new fuel filter together with its bracket. 16. Screw the fixing bolts of the fuel filter bracket. Use a drive socket #12. Use a ratchet wrench.
AUTODOC recommends: Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark. During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.
Take care to only use quality filters. 17. Connect the fuel lines to the fuel filter and lock the fastening clips. 18.
Tighten the fuel filter fasteners. Use a drive socket #12. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 Nm torque. 19. Screw on the cap of the pressure control valve. 20. Take the fluid container away from under the fuel filter. 21. Lower the car. 22. Tighten the fuel filler cap. 23. Close the fuel door. AUTODOC recommends: Before starting off, switch the ignition on and off several times.
This should be done to activate the fuel pump to make it pump fuel through the fuel system. 24. Run the engine for a few minutes.
